Location :Vadakara Job Description conducting routine vision tests, prescribing corrective lenses, diagnosing systemic and ocular diseases, and performing delicate eye surgeries like cataract removal and retinal repair. Key Duties & Responsibilities Clinical Examinations: Conduct comprehensive eye exams to test visual acuity, depth perception, and eye muscle function. Diagnostics: Evaluate the retina, optic nerve, and cornea using advanced equipment like OCT scanners and biomicroscopes .Medical Treatment: Prescribe medications (topical or oral) to treat infections, glaucoma, and ocular inflammation. Surgical Procedures: Perform both traditional microsurgeries and advanced laser procedures (e.g., LASIK, cataract removal, retinal detachment repairs).Systemic Health Monitoring: Identify signs of non-eye-related diseases—such as diabetes or hypertension—during eye exams and refer patients appropriately. Record Keeping: Maintain detailed Electronic Medical Records (EMR) and advise patients on preventive eye care. Educational & Licensing Requirements Undergraduate Degree: 4-year degree (often in pre-med or biological sciences).Medical School: 4 years earning an MD or DO degree.
