Job Overview Join our medical college and hospital research center in Hyderabad, Telangana, as a Professor and Head of Department (HOD) in Forensic Medicine. In this senior academic and administrative role, you will lead the department in delivering world-class medical education, driving advanced medico-legal research, and supervising complex forensic investigations. You will mentor the next generation of medical professionals while maintaining strict compliance with national statutory bodies, ensuring the department operates at the highest level of academic and clinical excellence. Key Responsibilities Lead the academic curriculum and deliver advanced lectures in forensic medicine and toxicology for undergraduate (MBBS) and postgraduate (MD) students. Oversee post-mortem examinations and provide expert medical opinions on complex medico-legal cases, including homicide, assault, and poisoning.Represent the institution in court as an expert medical witness, delivering highly reliable, scientific testimony to assist judicial authorities. Drive original research initiatives within the department, securing grants and publishing findings in high-impact, peer-reviewed international journals. Manage administrative operations, ensuring total department readiness for National Medical Commission (NMC) inspections, audits, and licensing updates.Establish toxicology lab protocols and supervise the preservation and documentation of vital forensic evidence and clinical samples. Requirements MD or DNB in Forensic Medicine from an NMC-recognized, premier medical institution. Minimum of 3 to 7 years of experience as an Associate Professor in the specialty, fulfilling all current NMC academic and publication criteria.Valid TSMC registration (Telangana State Medical Council) is mandatory to practice and teach in the state. Expertise in legal frameworks, including a profound understanding of Indian criminal laws, court procedures, and ethical medical jurisprudence.
