Role Overview We are seeking an experienced Consultant Neurophysician to join our multi-specialty clinical team in Banaskantha. You will be responsible for diagnosing and treating disorders of the nervous system, managing neurological emergencies like strokes, and offering expert outpatient and inpatient care. Responsibilities - Diagnose, evaluate, and treat neurological conditions (e.g., stroke, epilepsy, headache disorders, movement disorders, neuropathies). - Interpret specialized neurological tests including EEGs, nerve conduction studies (NCS), and EMGs. - Manage acute neurological emergencies in coordination with the critical care unit. - Provide comprehensive clinical care and guide junior medical staff. Requirements - DM / DNB in Neurology (or MD/DNB General Medicine with extensive neurology fellowship/experience). - Strong clinical diagnostic skills and proficiency with neuro-diagnostic tools. - Valid medical registration. The Neurologist will be responsible for diagnosing and managing patients with disorders affecting the brain, spinal cord, peripheral nerves, and muscles. NIMS Hospital has a dedicated Neurology & Movement Disorders department offering services including stroke and neuro-critical care, epilepsy management, movement-disorder care, and EMG/NCV diagnostics. Key Responsibilities Conduct comprehensive neurological consultations and patient assessments. Diagnose and manage neurological disorders. Evaluate and manage stroke, epilepsy, seizures, headaches, movement disorders, and other neurological conditions. Manage acute neurological and emergency cases. Interpret neurological investigations and diagnostic reports. Perform or interpret EEG, EMG/NCV, and relevant neuro-imaging as appropriate. Develop individualized treatment plans. Provide follow-up care and monitor patient progress. Coordinate with neurosurgeons, physicians, radiologists, intensivists, and other specialists. Maintain accurate clinical records and documentation. Counsel patients and their families regarding diagnosis, treatment, and prognosis. Qualifications & Requirements MBBS with MD/DNB in General Medicine or equivalent qualification. DM/DNB in Neurology or equivalent recognized qualification. Valid medical registration.
