Job Title: Professor – Pathology Department: Pathology Institution: Chennai Medical College Hospital & Research Centre / Trichy SRM Medical College Hospital & Research Centre Location: Irungalur, Trichy, Tamil Nadu – 621105 Job Description Chennai Medical College Hospital & Research Centre, Trichy, is looking for a qualified and experienced Professor of Pathology to join its medical teaching faculty. The role involves undergraduate and postgraduate teaching, clinical pathology services, academic leadership, research, postgraduate supervision and departmental administration. Key Responsibilities Conduct undergraduate and postgraduate teaching in Pathology. Deliver lectures, practical classes, demonstrations and case-based teaching. Supervise postgraduate students in clinical pathology and research activities. Guide MD Pathology residents in dissertation and thesis work. Oversee histopathology, cytopathology, hematology and laboratory diagnostic services. Review and report complex histopathology and cytology cases. Provide expertise in FNAC, biopsy reporting and special stains. Supervise Immunohistochemistry (IHC) and other specialized pathology investigations. Participate in multidisciplinary meetings and tumour-board discussions. Lead departmental research, publications and academic activities. Mentor junior faculty members, Senior Residents and postgraduate students. Participate in examinations, curriculum development and academic assessments. Ensure quality, safety and compliance with NMC and institutional standards. Eligibility MBBS with MD/DNB in Pathology from an NMC-recognized institution. Valid registration with NMC/State Medical Council. Candidates must meet the applicable NMC faculty eligibility requirements for Professor. Relevant teaching experience in an NMC-recognized medical college is required. Postgraduate teaching, research publications and departmental leadership experience preferred. Experience As per applicable NMC norms for Professor – Pathology. Candidates with strong academic, teaching and research profiles will be preferred. Salary ₹2,00,000 – ₹2,75,000 per month Salary is negotiable based on qualification, teaching experience, publications, clinical expertise and academic profile.
