Job Title: Associate Professor – General Medicine Location: Solapur, Maharashtra Employment Type: Full-Time, Permanent Department: General Medicine Job Overview A leading medical institution in Solapur, Maharashtra, is seeking a dedicated and experienced medical educator for the position of Associate Professor in General Medicine. The candidate will bridge the gap between departmental leadership and frontline medical education. They will actively train undergraduate (MBBS) and postgraduate (MD/DNB) students while delivering expert tertiary-level patient care at the attached teaching hospital. Core Responsibilities Academic Teaching: Conduct interactive lectures, bedside clinical tutorials, case discussions, and student seminars. Clinical Excellence: Lead daily medical ward rounds, manage outpatient clinics (OPD), and handle high-risk emergencies in the Medical Intensive Care Unit (MICU). Research Mentorship: Serve as a co-guide or guide for postgraduate theses, steering research methodologies and clinical trials. Curriculum Planning: Assist the Head of Department (HOD) in designing lesson plans, setting internal assessment exams, and conducting university practical examinations. Institutional Duties: Participate in institutional audits, National Medical Commission (NMC) inspection preparation, and cross-departmental clinical meets. Minimum Eligibility Criteria Educational Qualification: M.D. (General Medicine), M.D. (Medicine), or an equivalent DNB (General Medicine) qualification from an NMC-recognized institution. Teaching Experience: A minimum of 4 years of teaching experience as an Assistant Professor in General Medicine in a recognized medical college. Research Publications: At least 2 research publications in indexed journals (as first, corresponding, or second author) published during their tenure as an Assistant Professor. NMC Training: Completion of the mandatory Basic Course in Biomedical Research (BCBR) and the Medical Education Technology (BCME/RBCW) workshops. Registration: Active, valid registration with the Maharashtra Medical Council (MMC) or the National Medical Commission (NMC).
