Job Overview

A premier medical college and teaching hospital in Solapur, Maharashtra, is actively seeking a highly qualified, experienced, and dynamic medical professional for the position of Professor in General Medicine. The selected candidate will provide visionary academic leadership to the department. They will oversee the clinical training of undergraduate (MBBS) and postgraduate (MD) medical students. Additionally, they will ensure the highest benchmarks of patient care at the affiliated teaching hospital.

Core Responsibilities

Academic Leadership: Formulate curricula, deliver advanced medical lectures, and conduct clinical demonstrations for MBBS and MD students. Clinical Supervision: Lead daily inpatient ward rounds, supervise outpatient departments (OPD), and manage the intensive care unit (ICU) alongside emergency medical cases. Research and Mentorship: Act as an official postgraduate guide, supervising medical research theses, publications, and clinical case trials. Administration: Oversee departmental resource allocation, manage roster schedules, and actively participate in college administrative committees. Continuous Education: Organise Continuing Medical Education (CME) programs, inter-departmental death audits, and clinical-pathological conferences.

Minimum Eligibility Criteria

Educational Qualification: Must possess an M.D. (General Medicine), M.D. (Medicine), or an equivalent DNB (General Medicine) degree from an institution recognised by the National Medical Commission (NMC).

Teaching Experience: A minimum of 3 years of teaching experience as an Associate Professor in General Medicine at a permitted or recognised medical college. They must accumulate a total of at least 8 years of post-postgraduate teaching experience. Research Publications: Proven track record with a minimum of 4 original research publications in indexed journals (e.g., PubMed, Medline, Scopus), with at least 2 papers published during their tenure as an Associate Professor. Mandatory Certifications: Completion of the Basic Course in Biomedical Research (BCBR) and the Revised Basic Course Workshop in Medical Education Technologies (RBCW/BCME) as mandated by the NMC. Registration: Valid registration with the Maharashtra Medical Council (MMC) or the National Medical Commission (NMC).
