About the Role We are seeking a highly competent and academically driven Associate Professor of Physiology to join our preclinical faculty team at our medical college in Solapur. This middle-tier academic position focuses on delivering core human physiology curriculum modules, guiding laboratory experimental work, and driving institutional research initiatives. Key Roles & Responsibilities Academic Teaching: Deliver structured lectures, small-group tutorials, and problem-based learning sessions in human physiology for MBBS and postgraduate students according to NMC standards. Laboratory Instruction: Supervise hematology, amphibian (simulated), mammalian, and clinical physiology practical classes, ensuring proper equipment calibration and laboratory safety protocols. Curriculum Design: Collaborate with the Head of Department (HOD) to develop integrated teaching modules, formative assessment blueprints, and student performance tracking methods. Research Mentorship: Undertake independent medical research, guide postgraduate thesis protocols, and publish original papers in indexed, peer-reviewed journals. Examination Duties: Participate actively as an internal or external examiner for formative assessments and university-level practical and viva-voce examinations. Eligibility & Qualifications Education: Mandatorily hold an MD in Physiology, DNB in Physiology, or an equivalent NMC-recognized postgraduate medical degree. Experience: Minimum of 4 to 5 years of post-PG teaching experience, with a mandatory specified tenure working as a full-time, regular Assistant Professor in an recognized medical college. Publications: Possess the minimum number of active research publications in indexed journals as designated by standard NMC faculty eligibility criteria. Registration: Must hold a valid registration certificate from the Maharashtra Medical Council (MMC) or the National Medical Commission.
