Job Overview Join our National Medical Commission (NMC) recognized medical college and teaching hospital in Hyderabad, Telangana, as a Professor of Psychiatry. In this senior academic and administrative role, you will lead the Department of Psychiatry, shaping the clinical and educational framework for undergraduate (MBBS) and postgraduate (MD) medical students. You will drive advanced neuro-psychiatric research, manage specialized psychiatric clinical services, and maintain absolute institutional compliance with national regulatory bodies. Key Responsibilities Direct academic operations and deliver high-impact clinical lectures, seminars, and case-based learning sessions to MBBS and MD students. Supervise postgraduate residents, mentoring them through clinical thesis preparation, psychiatric case formulations, and research methodologies. Oversee clinical psychiatric services across the hospital’s Outpatient Department (OPD), Inpatient Department (IPD), and de-addiction units. Publish original research papers as the primary author in indexed, peer-reviewed international journals to satisfy ongoing NMC criteria. Ensure NMC inspection readiness by maintaining meticulous departmental logs, faculty data, student records, and infrastructure standards. Lead cross-departmental liaisons to provide emergency psychiatric evaluations and consultation-liaison services across the hospital. Requirements MD or DNB in Psychiatry from an NMC-permitted or recognized medical college. Minimum 3 to 7 years of teaching experience as an Associate Professor in Psychiatry, meeting all current statutory publication targets. Valid TSMC registration (Telangana State Medical Council) is mandatory to teach and practice legally in Hyderabad. Profound knowledge of medical jurisprudence, mental health legislation, and current medical education technologies (MET).
