Job Description
Trichy SRM Medical College Hospital & Research Centre is looking for a qualified and experienced Associate Professor in Psychiatry to join its medical teaching and clinical team.
The position involves undergraduate and postgraduate teaching, clinical psychiatric care, resident supervision, academic mentoring, research and departmental responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities
Conduct undergraduate and postgraduate teaching in Psychiatry.
Deliver lectures, tutorials, clinical demonstrations and case discussions.
Provide comprehensive psychiatric assessment and treatment to patients.
Manage OPD, inpatient, emergency and de-addiction cases.
Supervise and guide postgraduate students and Senior Residents.
Participate in psychotherapy, psychometric assessment and multidisciplinary care.
Participate in ECT services and other psychiatric treatment modalities as required.
Guide postgraduate students in dissertations, research and academic activities.
Conduct seminars, journal clubs, case presentations and academic meetings.
Participate in university examinations and student assessments.
Contribute to research, publications and scientific presentations.
Mentor junior faculty and contribute to departmental academic development.
Maintain high standards of patient confidentiality, clinical care and professional ethics.
Eligibility
MBBS with MD/DNB in Psychiatry from an NMC-recognized institution.
Valid registration with NMC/State Medical Council.
Candidates must meet the applicable NMC faculty eligibility requirements for Associate Professor.
Relevant teaching experience in an NMC-recognized medical college is required.
Postgraduate teaching, research publications and clinical experience will be preferred.
Experience
As per applicable NMC norms for Associate Professor – Psychiatry.
Candidates with strong teaching, clinical and research experience will be preferred.
Salary
₹1,50,000 – ₹2,00,000 per month
Salary is negotiable based on qualification, teaching experience, publications and academic profile.
